Changes to the P45
In October 2008 HMRC will be introducing a ‘plain paper’ P45. From that date, if you submit online, you will be able to print the P45 parts1a-3 on plain A4
paper instead of using our pre-printed stationery. There will be no facility for any employer-specific designs of the forms.
You can use choose to use HMRC’s pre-printed form for some employees and the plain paper version for others. The decision whether to make the change is for you to decide.
From October 2008 HMRC will be updating the pre-printed paper P45 to include date of birth and gender fields.

PAYE April Live Internet Service availability
PAYE customers live filing will be affected from the 3rd April.
Complete EOY (End of year) submissions
Users of the HMRC portal will be unable to access the service for 48 hours between 06:00 on the 4th April and 06:00 on the 6th April. Third party customers will receive responses to their submissions and will be able to file their live submissions as normal during this period. The only exception to this will be an eight hour period between 12:00 and 20:00 on the 5th of April. During this period, third party users will still be able to send their Return, but they will not get a response until the the eight hours are over. (If traffic is high during this period there might be an additional delay in responding until the backlog has cleared.) Anyone who chooses to file during this period must not attempt to re-submit their Return because they did not get an rejection or acceptance message.
EOY (End of Year) submissions sent in parts
From 6th April there will be changes to the way acceptance and rejection messages are sent to customers who send P14s and their P35 separately. As a result your customers will not receive a response to their live P35 part return for EOY filing for up to 2 weeks although a small proportion of these submissions will be pushed through during a controlled go live. Please refer to email advice issued 11/02/08 and 21/02/08 to developers who cater for End of Year part Return submissions and previous editions of Notes for Software Developers. Response messages for P14 parts will continue to be sent immediately.
Expenses and Benefits (EXB) submissions
New information
From 14:00 3rd April 2008 the message class for EXB submissions will be suspended. The live EXB service resumes on the 6th April 2008 at 06:00 and will accept submissions based on the new validations
For MOV (In Year Movements ) submissions
Data Provisioning Service (DPS)
